This movie would have a 9.5/10 if every moron who didn't even give it a solid chance and turned it off after 25 minutes didn't give it a 1/10.

Given how many of said morons populate this board a 7.8/10 is a colossal accomplishment and a testament to the greatness of this film.

The first time I saw it, I probably got 1/5th of the jokes bc it's such a visual feast and I was literally sitting stunned in the theatre. Upon multiple viewings, this is clearly a masterpiece and a beautiful adaptation of HST's source material.

If you turn ANY movie off before it's over DO NOT VOTE, bc your opinion is totally irrelevant, you didn't even complete the film.

If it were actually a good movie, people WOULDN'T WANT to turn it off after 25 mins. A 9.5/10 movie should captivate you the whole time

Well, people DO NOT want to turn it off after 25 mins, a tiny minority notwithstanding. It would appear you have no concept of a subjective opinion or an ability to comprehend that this opinion is only shared by very few.

I think Fear & Loathing is an absolutely amazing film. It's such a great film that, for me at least (and it's clear many, many others feel the same way), it transcends film and instead is an experience. That's how I feel after a good viewing of it. It feels like an experience.

I think it's probably my favorite film of all-time.

That said, it's most definitely an acquired taste (to say the very least). It has a cult following for a reason. It's just simply too bizarre and abnormal of a film for the average person to take in. And I suppose that's also part of its charm and mystique when we (Fear & Loathing fans) talk about this movie among ourselves and hold it in such high regards.

I suffered through the entire movie. It was boring and pointless, and I give it a 5/10.

This movie would have a 9.5/10 if it was a very good movie. Alas, it was a disaster and 1/10 is being generous.
