Pixar's most underrated movie.

I still don't understand why a lot find A Bug's Life to be one of Pixar's weakest to this day, it's Pixar's most underrated movie. I mean, it has the best Pixar villain IMO in Hopper which was one of Kevin Spacey best performances, it's one of the funniest Pixar movies and has a great story. I get that maybe it does have some weak or forgettable character but still I have it up there with WALL-E, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, Up & Toy Story 1 & 3. It's an awesome flick and guess what I still find it to be slightly better than Antz which I liked a lot but A Bug's Life was more fun IMO.

Anyways, here's how I rank all Pixar movies (a lot of ties):

WALL-E
Ratatouille/Finding Nemo/Up
Toy Story 1 & 3/A Bug's Life
The Incredibles
Brave
Toy Story 2
Cars 2
Monsters, Inc.

Agreed. I can't believe this has only a 7,2. Judging by the ratings of other Pixar movies here, it should have a 7,5 or a 7,6.

After the success of Toy Story Disney knew that teaming up with Pixar would be a huge step up in the big leagues for them and when A Bug's Life premiered Thanksgiving 1998 in theaters Disney knew that A Bug's Life would be a huge success and it was because it simply had a good storyline and humor and with a cast of sitcom stars like Kids In The Hall alum Dave Foley to Frasier's David Hyde Pierce and Denis Leary A Bug's Life was truly a comedy that made Pixar what it was. I do agree that the storyline was copied from the Martin Sheen/Steve Martin comedy Three Amigos and it seemed like a new version of the movie but computer animated and used insects as the characters but even though also A Bug's Life had heavy competition with the movie Antz more people saw A Bug's Life than Antz because while A Bug's Life was made for kids Antz was more of an adult movie. But I also think why A Bug's Life was a success was because of actor Kevin Spacey's role as Hopper and Kevin Spacey delivered a whole lot of toughness in providing the voice of Hopper and was so cool. I think that with the great promotion that was done on this movie Disney knew that by teaming up with Pixar was truly a match made in heaven and A Bug's Life proved it
