I knew I recognized him!
The guy who played the coach in Waterboy, I knew I recognized him. Finally after watching his scenes like ten times I know from where...
He used to be Fonzie!

Don't feel bad. I did the exact same thing. Luckily an episode of Happy Days came on later that night and I was like WTF? *priceless*

When I first read this post, I was suprised. I mean, who didn't know Henry Winkler was The Fonz. Then I watched The Waterboy with my son and mentioned it, he asked, "Who is the Fonz". These kids are getting younger and younger or I'm getting really old.
"I am that damn good!"
if you want to see his first big film check out night shift. Ron Howard directed it and is very funny.
shareYeah, I was at a friends house when that came on once, and we were expecting a lame 80's comedy, but it was surprisingly pretty good. It was a bit lame, but still good.
shareHe was in Lords of Flatbush before that, which was a pretty big role at the time.
shareDamn I must be getting old lol...and I'm only 40, that was a no brainer (fonz)...here is something that will realy mess you young folks up. The coach for the cougars is Jerry Reed, he played the snowman (Cledus Snow) in Smokey and The Bandit. In one of my favorite comedies of all time.
"TJ dont consider himself no pimp, more like a male madame..that wasnt too well throughtout"
I'm 26, and the OP surprised me as well lol. Although "Happy Days" reruns were still pretty popular in the late-90s when this came out.
As for Jerry Reed, I had seen "Smokey and the Bandit" prior to "The Waterboy", but would never have guessed he played the coach. That blew my mind because I remember Reed's character in "Smokey".
Oh stewardess...I speak jive.
Television ICON, Mr. Henry Winkler, did indeed play the Fonz, and was also the best thing about this movie.

shareLol yes Henry Winkler one of a list of many stars that Adam Sandler seems to recycle in about 90% of his films
There are things that go bump in the night and we are the ones that bump back
