I liked volcano

I thought it was a really good disaster movie, it's different from the rest, a bit like Dante's peak which i also like. I dont know why so many people bash it, i know it has some flaws, but no more than any other disaster movie! leave it alone peeps!

I suppose I have a love/hate relationship with VOLCANO. I like watching it but I also like railing at its cheesy ass! I know it's chock fulla silly dialog, implausible science and situations but the kid in me that grew up with 70's star-studded disaster blockbusters still enjoys the wanton destruction. I think also that I have bit of nostalgia for VOLCANO because I saw it in the theaters when I was living temporarily in the LA area. I was there for a temp job and wasn't really fond of being in LA, so I didn't mind seeing its glitsy edges getting singed a bit.

Tommy Lee was the glue that held the movie together for me, though I couldn't stand his "daughter" and couldn't believe there was any romantic chemistry between Jones and Ann Heche. I've managed to find VOLCANO at my local library and haven't needed to buy a copy of my own. I just get my fix and return it!

Although... I have to say that the scene where the subway supervisor gets burnt up in the lava makes me cringe. What an agonizing, if unrealistic, way to go...

What stands out in 2015 about VOLCANO is the LOUD retro musical score playing over the thing...they don't do scores like that today...but I wish they did.

YES!!!!!!!!! HAHA!! I watch this periodically over the years when I get into disaster movie mode because it has some great destruction(which is why I watch these things) but also because it's ridiculously cheesy! I have a good time watching it and my wife didn't fall asleep when I showed it to her for the first time, so thats a huge plus. It moves quick and has non stop action/destruction and a pretty decent cast too!

I just got back into disaster after seeing San Andreas in the theater so of course, Volcano HAD to be added to the watch list!

That's why I love netflix!

Oh I travel, a sort of licenced troubleshooter.

Me too - i love this film and i really dont like Dantes peak at all.
I love this because it has:

1. Tommy Lee jones who is great in everything
2. Anne Heche who cracks me up & i think shes a great actress
3. Volcanos which i love
4. Disaster film :)
5. Bringing everybody together in a way that's way over the top but still great hence the 'Look at their faces, they all look the same' :) Awwww soppy & cheesy as hell but well spotted little kid :)

It's cheesy, but it's a quality cheese.) I think Volcano gets bash way too much. Sure, it has the Lava inconsistency, but it's still a heart warming movie about humanity coming together to face a serious crisis. It deserves a higher rating.
