Rusty was horrible in this

He was seriously terrible, no screen presences and terrible joke delivery

Still better than the dork from Big Bang

This Rusty appeared to go back to the European type Rusty.

Christmas appeared to be the worst casting (nothing wrong with the actors themselves) because they appeared to be quite an age gap between Rusty & Audrey.

Love this Rusty (my favorite one).

He's godawful, but not exactly the only horrible thing about this sh-t. Not by a long shot.

Yeah he was the cutest Rusty. Although Jason Lively was hot too, in my opinion.

After all, "His name is Rusty Griswold and he's a C+ student," as he gets pulled out of the jacuzzi by Clark. :D

"European Vaction"'s Rusty (Jason Lively) provided a fun goofy take on the character, but "Christmas Vacation"'s Rusty (possibly due to the much large ensemble piece that that film was) was almost a non-player character and undeniably the weakest in the series - not through any fault of actor Johnny Galecki's performance, but just due to the fact he had very little to do or say. "Vegas Vacation"'s Rusty (by Ethan Embry...well done!!) is a resurgence for the character in performance and spirit and an absolute joy to watch!

COMPLETELY agree here! I think the sentimental feel of the Christmas installment clouds a lot of people's judgment in thinking that that is some kind of excellent Griswold the kids performance. Look on the Christmas Vacation board for an in depth on that. Those kids were a non-factor indeed!!

Jason Lively was a terrific Rusty too!

Embry really brought a lot to the table, and next time you see this, check out all of his facial expression's and reactions to what other family members and people say. Hilarious and an excellent portrayal of rusty!

That would make 3 Christmas' I've saved, vs. 8 that I've ruined; two were kind of a draw..
