Is James Bond able to speak multiple languages?

I'm somewhat taken aback at the scene in which Bond looks at the computer keyboard and then asks Wai Lin to type for him since it's in Chinese.

Maybe in the back of my mind, since James Bond regularly has to travel to different countries for his job, he should be well versed enough to learn different languages. And I always assumed that Pierce Brosnan's 007 was meant to be reasonably sophisticated/aristocratic.

Yes, he can speak many languages, and he does in the films. Chinese has many different phonetic systems, so it's reasonable that he didn't know the system on that keyboard. I learned some Chinese, but it was using the pinyin system which looks like the typical Latin alphabet, so I wouldn't know how to use that kind of keyboard either.
