What's with all the Cal sympathizers on here?

Is there something about that asshole that appeals to people? They keep acting like he was a misunderstood victim who did nothing wrong, when he was the villain of the movie!

I'm not a Cal sympathizer - Cal was clearly the antagonist in this film, but to say he had no reasonable complaint about Rose is missing some points.

In what universe? This was ROSE's story, NOT his. You want a Cal version of Titanic, go to fanfiction.net, not James Cameron's film.

In what universe?

This universe. In this universe people (particularly my age) can brain fart and type "protagonist" when they what they really meant to type was antagonist.

Well, even in Rose's story she comes off as a loose, inconsiderate and spoiled bitch.

But she learned how to be a better person because of Jack, whereas Cal didn't. Rose also was forced to eat Humble Pie when she got to New York and had to work her way up from nothing after that, and she thrived simply because she learned how to be stronger from Jack. Cal, on the other hand, ended up killing himself when he lost all his money in '29, so you can guess who had the better outcome in life.
