Rose’s mom…..
Any ideas of what could have possibly happened to her after everything?

We can only speculate how her life would have turned out.
She seemed very certain that if Rose didn't marry Cal, she and Rose would be in desperate shape financially, would have to sell all their possessions, and would need to get menial jobs to survive. Would Cal still have taken care of her after Rose "died" on Titanic?
I doubt it, particularly after Rose chose to be a whore to a guttersnipe over being married to him.
Maybe some of their other rich friends would take pity on her and help her out with basic housing etc.
She could have remarried if she wanted to. Assuming that she was about Roses age or maybe a little older she would have been in her late 30s or early 40s. Not ancient and still possibly still capable of bearing a child should that be necessary.

Maybe, but the prospects for marriage for a woman at her age weren't great.
Possibly Cal would in order to save face . It would be the “proper” thing to do.
shareI'm sure she got a big settlement out of Rose's "death" then lived comfortably, maybe even married again.

Settlements back then wouldn't amount to all that much. I doubt any money Ruth would have received would have provided room and board for very long. Most likely she either had to go back to work as a seamstress or, if she was lucky, was taken pity on by some other rich people.
I looked up internet information for guidance.
Prudential claimed it paid £14,239 claims for 324 people. That puts it at roughly £44 pounds per person.
Converting for inflation 1912 £44 is equal to 2024 £6298.38 pounds. If you convert to dollars that would be around $7919.21 (2024).
That would be enough to get buy for a bit. Considering how savvy the woman was, I doubt she would have to work as a seamstress.
Also the mother was manipulator. She never worked as a seamstress. She was from one of the big bloodline PA families. Cal would never have overlooked their genteel poverty if they didn't have lineage.
I’d like to think she ended up working as a seamstress in a small apartment in downtown New York or something. She will have ended up old and bitter with damaged fingers and dirty matty hair, eating only porridge and water for breakfast. Stupid ho.
shareWow, that's harsh.
She was only a typical upper class woman from her generation.
