The real reason Spawn didnt make it

the real reason Spawn didnt make it, is nobody wants to see a black super hero movie. A black cop movie, ok. A black vietnam war hero, ok. A black comic book hero? Nope. Never gonna work. It's just not a black market. It's like black WW2 movies, nobody cares except a small amount of the black community. White people have more than they can digest of their own war heroes, they dont want or need a black one.

Say what you will, but that's the truth.

Dude, the real reason this movie didn't make it is because it sucked worse than anything ever made. Such a terribly written, directed and acted (with the exception of Clown) movie Im surprised noone hunted down the cast and crew and put them in prison for making such an abomination.

i actually agree with the OP on this

back when this movie came out, i HAD at least 5 or 6 spawn comic books and went to the movie thinking that spawn was white, and was angry and confused when i went to the theatre and he was black

it only ever showed him already burned up in the comics i had and he looked like a white guy like that

someone told me years later that spawn really was black, and that's how i found out

i still think it's a DECENT movie though

Blade anyone?????

I agree with jwhawk1971. If nobody wanted to see a black superhero/comic book film, the Blade series wouldn't be so popular.

When I was a kid most of friends were white, we went to see Blade and thought that guy was the coolest dude ever.

We saw Spawn and went "what a crappy movie that was".

Just sayin'

Blade.

You don't even SEE his skin colour for most of the movie, anyway! He's not really a black superhero; he's a *burned* superhero...

Exactly, it has nothing to do with his skin color. You can't even really see it. The comics wouldn't popular if that really mattered too. Also the aforementioned blade series kind of ruins the OP's asinine ideas. It didn't 'make it' because it's a badly made movie, plain and simple. The writing was garbage, the characters were stupid, the pacing was awful, the run-time was too long, the effects are trash, and none of it was that entertaining.

I love reading stuff like that on IMDB though, it cracks me up. The mental gymnastics people do to avoid admitting they like a movie that's considered bad It's impossible the OP likes a bad movie. No, it must be racism! Of course...
