Who should remake this?
Robert Rodriguez
Zack Snyder
Rob Zomnbie
Also, I would very much like to see an adaptation of the 'Sam & Twitch' comic book series either in animation or live action.

shareHow about some realistic choices people. Nolan, Snyder, and Fincher are not going to do SPAWN. That said, I want Vincenzo Natali to direct.
... and that was the second time I got crabs.
Rob Zombie seems a realistic choice to me...
shareWhat about Werner Herzog? Or maybe Lars von Trier? Or possibly Harmony Korine?
I think Spawn needs to be the movie to push the envelope, I think any of these directors would do so.

Could Chris Nolan pull it off? God, that would be awesome. I like Spawn though, i don't know why it gets so much hate. Michael Jai White and John Leguizamo are both awesome, although Martin Sheen is not scary or imposing enough to be Jason Wynn.
shareI would love that so much, don't forget Gasper Noe
shareit is highly unlikely that any of the directors you named , rodriquez, snyder, or zombie would make this and i am happy to see this
rodriguez would add his crappy cheap effects and ruin the movie
zombie would just not fit for this and would go for the macabre
and snyder well he is the most likely
i bet it will be a new director in all honesty

Rob Zombie sounds like an interesting choice. His manic, visual style would be a perfect fit. I was also reading the trivia and saw that Alex Proyas, director of the crow and dark city almost did the first one, which would be sick.
shareMaybe Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer ?

If only Todd Mcfarlane could get his head out of his ass and actually get behind this project and stop being such a pussy and control freak, then maybe we could get something done!
We've gotten so many remakes and re-boots recently, for heaven's sake they are doing a re-boot of a re-boot with Spiderman...if there is one character that screams re-boot/re-make is "Spawn" all around one of the coolest dudes.
I really enjoyed the HBO animated "Spawn" series (though they could have made another season and given a more comprehensive ending). I do think that the audience would be there...

Guillermo Del Toro.
Come at the king, you best not miss.
I'd choose Antoine Fuqua. The guy is really good at capturing urban gritt. I think Shooter, Training Day and Brooklyn's Finest are testaments to his abilities at capturing the crime world and delivering morally ambiguous characters. Plus, those are all pretty heavy, violent films.
Also, I think keeping Spawn character driven would be a good move too...
