I know this is considered a chick flick but I think guys would enjoy it. It's pretty funny.

shareYes, I rather watch this than stupid repetitive fighting or car chasing scenes.... This movie is funny and great pacing! It has an amazing soundtrack too. I enjoyed it when I was little and I enjoy it even as an adult. This is 90's golden film, right under Clueless.

shareYeah I don't mind it. It's light entertainment, nothing too offensive or insulting, it's not the best movie in the world but it's watchable on a lazy Sunday whenever it pops up on cable. Seeing a story about two unpopular kids getting some sort of recognition gives you something to cheer for I guess... and every scene with Janeane Garofalo was great. Looking back on it now, the cameo from Justin Theroux as the cowboy was bizarre.
Also, the teenage version of me who saw this when it first came out liked the fact Mira Sorvino was basically popping out of her dress. They were talking about losing weight, and I was like "noooo, you're perfect!"

I enjoy high-school movies and high-school reunion movies in general (I'm a bit too old for the former now, but I like the high-school movies that previous generations were into, like the John Hughes' stuff). It's fun to see how characters have changed, or not, throughout the years, and whether the reunion finally puts some perspective on the old dynamics that used to exist between the 'losers' and the popular bullies. It was great to find that Romy and Michele's tormentors were no more successful and fulfilled than them, and that status shouldn't be important to any of them and that friendship and enjoying the company of people who like and respect you, rather than worrying about what jerks think, is far more important.
