I can't believe how amazing the music is in Miyazaki's films. Joe Hisaishi is an absolute legend. What's everyones favourite soundtrack out of the Ghibli films? I can't choose between this and Spirited Away.

sharePrincess Mononoke has some great individual pieces however Spirited Away has the best overall soundtrack. Don't forget Howl and Totoro either both really engaging. Basically Jo Hisashi is 'The Man'
share"Princess Mononoke" is my favorite Hisaishi score, but I've loved all of them. "My Neighbor Totoro" and "Spirited Away" would be next in line though, with "Porco Rosso" and "Castle in the Sky" coming in.

This soundtrack is exceptionally beautiful, particularly the last few pieces: 'Adagio of Life and Death' always makes me cry, 'Ashitaka + San' is simple but stunning, the 'Princess Mononoke Theme Song' is made even better with the vocal version and the 'Legend of Ashitaka End Credit'...oh my goodness, I can't go a day without listening to such masterful beauty and brilliance all in the space of 5 minutes
This soundtrack is simply wonderful, even the fast-paced 'Demon God' pieces are great to have a bit of a head-bang to :P
Mononoke and Nausicaa are my fave soundtracks.
