have you lost your mind? the movie is still very fresh in everybodys mind despite being nearly 18 years old. And the quality of actors is hard to match in todays era. both were at the height of their powers and were wired inn, all the way. bale and hardy will try but they do not have the charm,crankiness and charisma that both john and cage possess.

I would go a different route and cast female actors as leads. I do not generally believe in remakes, but I think that this change would bring a whole new dynamic and would be intriguing to see. Maybe Famke Janssen as Archer and Cate Blanchett as Troy?
