Hi, mild spoilers...

In a scene where Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves' characters were on the train, and that man comes at them with a knife for staring, I wonder - firstly, why was the word "crack" in subtitles used in quotes?

Secondly, how did Pacino's character even with all his powers knew all about that man's relationships and who was doing whom etc, was he a mind reader too?

And thirdly, did it not surprise that man at all (he certainly wasn't privy to all the details and did not know about him being the Devil) that some stranger on a train knew all of that man's personal secrets and what did he think, did he even suspect that he could be a supernatural demon, per say, or maybe even some spy perhaps?

Pacino, and since he's SataR himself he can read minds and souls of all mortals.

OK but why the use of R instead of "n"? Satar? And why t instead of r in Lucifer?

And its written as "Lucifer" with an "r" at the end, not "LucifeT". :)

But then there are still several things about that scene I wonder.

Firstly, why was the word "crack" in the subtitles there written in quotes?

Secondly, was the reaction of that man realistic and what DID he really think of it? Some stranger on a train knowing his deeply personal secrets like that? And why did he just leave instead of say confronting him further with "Excuse me man, how the hell do you know this?", and did he think he was a spy or maybe someone who perhaps came in contact with him?

Because the term “crack” is just a street name, or slang term, for that particular type of cocaine. The subtitleist for this film was diligent in pointing this out by using “quotes” around the word, thus indicating the word’s slang nature.

The knife wielding passenger WAS completely in shock when Al Pacino’s character laid all that information on him. He was completely and utterly freaked out. His buddy had to direct him off the train, he could barely walk. His eyeballs widened like saucers and he was left nearly speechless except to whisper things like “How do you know this? Who are you? No, not Carlo. No it can’t be” or whatever he says there to that effect.
