Things that don't make sense (CONTINUE THE LIST)

Don't get me wrong, I like the film. I think it's highly entertaining. However...

1) how come the bunny suddenly reappeared at the end (out of nowhere)& how come the Nicolas Cage character ever think it's a good idea to STILL give it to his daughter after it has been in the gutter and looks absolutely disgusting? Give her some money! It's flying all around.

Larkin tries to save the cops who are being assaulted in the 'boneyard' in the desert by using a nearby bulldozer as a sort of shield to get them all out of the trap. Okay fine. But when he goes to start it, it won't start. He yells, "Stupid stinking piece of s**t car!"

I just always thought it was funny that he calls a bulldozer a 'car'.

That two heavily armed attack helicopters show up in the middle of a violent firefight, with an escaping aircraft....and just land and do nothing!!!

reply

And why did the cons continuously shoot the snow blade of the snow plow (bulldozer). Its just like when guys use machine guys to shoot up a house and only shoot the building at eye level and never down towards the floor where the good guys are hiding.

reply

When the plane is escaping the desert airfield, why didn't the attack choppers start strafing the airplane right as it was about to take off? It would have saved the trouble of trying to shoot it out of the sky later on and having it crash into a populated area.

How come when Cyrus the Virus gets stabbed through the ankle and pulls out the piece of wood, that leg is still functional? Being stabbed like that, he shouldn't be able to stand on that leg.

BTW, the girl that Garland Green encounters lives in a trailer park next to Lerner Airfield. You can briefly see it (and a sign as well) during the scenes with Garland and the girl.

Welcome to my Nightmare- Freddy Krueger

Lerner Airfield isn't abandoned. There was a man in the control tower who was murdered. There is the old man hiding under the truck. There is the light plane that comes into land.

If the area was completely depopulated, there would be no point in having a functioning airfield there. Or a "bone yard".

Presumably, Cindino's men have done a sweep of the area and killed everyone they could find, missing the little girl and the old man.

The problem is that the cons and Cindino's men act as if the airfield is abandoned. They don't seem very concerned that someone might spot them and sound the alarm.

I always wondered why Pinball got himself killed getting back on the plane. He was already off and in a relatively safe hangar. All he had to do was hide for 20 minutes until the prison transport left and he was free to wander off.

Funny movie ! Full of stupid scenes but still an entertaining 90's action classic.

What really bothers me most:

You see Larkin and Malloy watching the plane take off, with that Corvette hooked to it. You also see Poe looking at the flying car, the airfield in the background miles away.
Next scene, the car is suddenly flying through a tower, landing right in front of Larkin and Malloy ?! This is ridiculous !

reply

If Trish and Casey were meeting Cameron getting off the plane then what the hell are they doing in Larkin's office?

Poe is on a long journey to meet them from somewhere in the desert.

They end up travelling to that exact location.

Everyone is going around in circles.

reply

if you had watched the movie, you would have seen a marshall meet her at the airport and say "we have a jet standing by" so they were flown to larkin's office

Emperor: Tell me how he died
Nathan Algren: I will tell you, how he LIVED.

reply

I did watch the movie, hence my question.

A "jet standing by" does not account for getting from Mobile, Alabama to Nevada in 10 minutes. Never mind that the jet first had to fly out there.

Meh!

the thing that made no sense to me was when swamp thing ( the prisoner pilot ) hooked up the transponder to a piddley sized battery that could only run a dolphin torch, have enough power to run the transponder, he would of been better to use a car battery.

the second thing that bothered me was that none of the first lot of prisoners were not waved with a metal detector just for safety measures

Along the lines of the Vette falling back in front of the agents, which was indicative of a positioning issue, I found the array of Vegas landmarks to be nutty, even for someone with a cursory familiarity of Vegas.

The plane was shown approaching, then passing, then approaching the Stratosphere in different angles. Then the plane takes off the neck of the guitar at the Hard Rock - which isn't even on the Strip, let alone the North end! As I recall, the plane went past the Flamingo, then crashed into the Sands, which is not as far South as the Flamingo. Then on motorcycles they're in Downtown, only moments away, in movie time, then they're in the tunnel under the airport (miles away), then back downtown, again! It wasn't even close to being real.
