Overall I am not a big fan of WKW. His narcoleptic pace and the feeling that most of his movies are somehow "unfinished", aren't exactly my cup of tea.
Some people says WKW style mirrors Kieslowski style to some extent. I am not agree. I love Kieslowski films and they are way deeper (at intelectual and emotional levels) than any film ever shot by WKW, who IMO is a tad overrated director. Too much style not so much substance.
Ozu, Bresson, Kiarostami even Resnais and Tarkovsky are closer to WKW's style IMO.
However I have enjoyed some of his films. In particular his directorial debut (As Tears Go By), Chungking Express (my fav film from WKW) and In the Mood for Love.
