This won an Oscar ONLY cause of Holocaust background

We all know that the movie critics and the Academy Awards favor:

1). Historical figures and events
2). Handicapped people
3). Minorities

This movie won awards and positive reviews solely because of #1 —- the Holocaust setting.

This movie had an implausible plot. Even a child would have realized it wasn’t a game.

There were also absurdities, such as his use of “willpower” to make the dog stop barking, the boy’s convienently running into his mother at the end, and the mother even getting on the train just to be nearer to her husband and son.

The movie belittled or misrepresented the actual pain that Holocaust victims underwent. The main character, never demonstrated that he was experiencing extreme distress at any time (the comedic scenes with the anvil do NOT demonstrate the tribulations of the Holocaust).

You’ll notice the first half of the movie is basically a screwball comedy, the rest is obviously not portrayed realistically or is at least toned down for the sake of humour. It’s portrayed from a child’s point of view.
