shareYeah, this movie is awesome. It's very atmospheric and immersive. It keeps you engaged from start to finish, though admittedly the big rig-car chase at the end is a little frustrating.

I really liked it the first time I saw it & have also rewatched it several times. It's currently available on one of my movie channels, shows up there often.
shareI think it is a good thriller. Easy to get drawn into the idea how this woman vanishes into thin air and how Kurt Russell is determined to figure it out and save her. It's well-staged, well-crafted, well-executed, if a bit cheesy.

I get sick of rabid wrong-thinking wingers causing problems when moderate people just want to have a thoughtful convo about stuff. I'm not looking to pick fights, I just don't want to stand on the side-lines while idiot wrong-wingers try to stampede the dumb rabble lemmings to follow.
btw, I think I've only seen Breakdown once, maybe twice, and it was a fun watch but toward the end it seemed over-wrought, and how this guy had a family and a normal life but he was also a crazy sadist seemed not believable. Something about the end and the showdown was off, but I don't remember specifically how it unfolded.
But I try not to let stuff like that ruin a movie for me. I figure if I enjoyed watching it, a poor ending doesn't matter.

But, it wasn't normal. The wife was haggard, jittery and put upon at first sight. Deep down, she knew, not the full scope of the mayhem, but, she knew something was terribly wrong in her home. But, she had made her decision long before Russell & his wife showed up that she was going to keep silent on to the end.
So, when the shit hit the fan in her kitchen she had to remain at her husband's side. You could tell she was conflicted for a mere moment, but, then crossed the crossed line for the last time. Responding with vile hatred---that hatred was not intended for Russell though directed straight at him. It was intended for her husband & his cretins. She was crying out, screaming out for the first & last time. Her world was over. Her son's world was over. Her husband world was over. She'd stood with this man, walked the walk, vowed the vows. "What God has joined together let no man tear asunder."
J.T. Walsh's character had tore his own marriage asunder. share

This movie is awesome. It's an excellent action thriller. It's got great build up, suspense, action, and a great final act.
shareI did like it and know many people that actually do too. Many who I wouldn't think even knew the movie.
I just wish the second half had a better build up like the first and also wish his wife was more on the screen.
She was so hot!
I always enjoyed it.
shareThis movie is AWESOME. The tension and panic of Russell and Quinlan's characters feels very real. Villains are great too. Underrated gem.
