Ebert didn't like the ending; did you? (spoiler)

Dropping the truck on a helpless victim unable to move, even if he is a villain. Ebert didn't like that. What do you think? Do you see his point?

I did, and I don't care about Ebert's opinion on anything.

reply

I don't mind the ending. J.T. Walsh was a great actor and
terrific as the villain, Red. Red was so bad he deserved
that demise with the truck. Also, he was a trucker so it
was only fitting.

reply

The irony is big reason why I loved the ending.
Also, from the movie clues, I'm pretty sure that he's the one that rape her.

reply

Screw Ebert and his opinions, just like all the critics. The ending rocked.

My life fades... the vision dims... all that remains are memories

reply

Worked perfectly for me.

And cemented my identification with Russell's character; like him, I would probably have not gone the extra step and dropped the truck on him, but my wife would have. ;)

The war is not meant to be won... it is meant to be continuous.

reply

Loved the ending...That piece of trash got what he deserved...I loved that Amy was the one who made the decision too...She had suffered a great deal and was totally justified to do what she did...Ebert, as usual, was totally clueless...

So you do have a plan? Yeah, Mr. White! Yeah, science!

Maybe Ebert thought it was too quick a death and the guy should have died a slow, agonizing, painful death in the creek.

Nah, fck that guy, man. He got what he deserved.

reply

Yes, I do.

I can understand why Kathleen Quinlan did that after everything she went through, but it was still wrong. The main villain was beat and was no longer a threat. There was no need to finish him off that way, especially since he had a kid (although I don't believe she was aware of that, not that it would have made any difference to her mind-set I suspect).

Strictly speaking she committed murder, although I guess she would get off because she clearly wasn't of sound mind.

I find your posts on the most random boards .

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing .

reply

I'll take that as a compliment Captain_Wesker. Yeah, I dig lots of genres from low budget grade z gore fests to musicals to kids movies. I don't give a damn. You were talking to me right?

It was great, it made her humane, she would have had an infernal an eternal PTSD I think that gave her some sort of peace. At least a murder wouldnt be out there wanting revenge.
