I don't think Walter would lie. He has this rigid but twisted moral code that he lives by. If he thought Smokey was a milimeter over the line, he wouldn't let it slide.

But Walter was also kind if unhinged and he might have been wrong. I'm sure it was very close.

Walter was right about Smokey's toes and the line, but pulling the gun over it was somewhat questionable.
