Did the failure of this film cause DC movies to try too hard to be serious?

Most DC films since Batman & Robin like The Dark Knight trilogy and Snyderverse films have been trying too had too be serious or edgy to the point of being soulless.

It was campy as hell, I'm saying the box office failure of it caused subsequent DC stuff like The Nolan trilogy and Snyderverse films to be too serious or edgy to the point of being lifeless.
