Could Marcia Cross have made a good Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy?

I never thought that Uma Thurman was that attractive (she's more quirky/offbeat looking then an out and out "bombshell") to make playing a seductress like Ivy work. Plus, Uma's choice to play Ivy like Mae West on steroids just makes the movie feel schlocky and tone-deaf. She isn't exactly convincing as an unhinged, vamp like Michelle Pfeiffer was as Catwoman.

I can definitely see that. Sadly, they went for star power over substance.

Circa 1997 I'd have chosen either Nicole Kidman as Poison Ivy (alas she had already been cast in the franchise as Dr Chase Meridian) or Angie Everhart (that would have admittedly been more on the basis of looks/sex appeal than acting ability, although I think she was capable of pulling the role off). Julianne Moore would have been my third choice.

In any case, I'd have chosen a natural red-head, or an actor identified with red hair, for the part (Uma, I believe, is a natural blonde, and unfortunately didn't look right with that red wig she was given as Poison Ivy).

I thought Uma was pretty dang alluring in the role, speaking as someone who isn't attracted to tall, slinky women. But, I agree, Marcia would have worked well.
