THis is not that bad,
1)Mariah Carey has an amazing voice, so this movie is worth at least 3 stars for that
2)This is perfect flash back to the bad, but culty 80 Hip Hop genre (Breakdance etc), so take it for what it is.
3)This movie is what it is, a fairy tale story about a young girls climb to stardom.
Give it a break.

This movie wasn't bad at all. Sure, it's not an "Oscar", but it's good in itself. It had heart and I was crying at the end. I actually liked this movie. I don't care what anyone thinks, I Glitter is a good movie.

Not love, but I think Glitter is one of the most underrated movies of all time. Again, let me emphasize, it's not a great movie, but it's also not trying to be. It's trying to tell a story about a real person, a singer in a coming of age story, but people crucify it as the worst movie ever made simply because Mariah Carey is in it. It's an autobiographical story though, and I think it took courage to play it... it's a decently entertaining movie.
I never understood the hate. I liked it in part to my upbringing and my self realization as a singer were very similar to her experience, and I don't mean that in some BS way, I'm 37 years old, I understand the depth and hardship of struggling to find your self, your real voice, and could relate with that aspect of the story.
I gave it a 6, and think that's a pretty fair scoring I think.

LOL at everyone claiming this movie is underrated. I caught this movie on television last night (it was late night, and I couldn't sleep) and I couldn't help but laugh out loud. The acting and story is beyond predictable. The critics pounced on it because there is absolutely nothing original in this movie. And the critics weren't the ones who stayed away from the theaters. People obviously did not care to see Mariah in a movie, particulary such an obvious vanity project. Now, she has redeemed herself with Precious, so its possible she could have a good film career. But this picture deserves its reputation.

it's not a bad movie to me either it wasn't the greatest, but i didn't think it was that bad.
shareThis movie was boring for me because I am not a fan of Mariah Carey. I think she has vowel diarrhea, and suffers from howler monkey syndrome. I did give this movie 4/10 because it was not badly made, just a little below average. I will not be rushing out to buy the soundtrack anytime soon. I would recommend this to Mariah Carey Fans, but no one else. It is not bad enough to deserve it's Bottom 100 status.

I think the critics were biased against Mariah because she was a singer who became an actress after years of denying she would. The movie was not that bad.
