'The Ghost of Causton Abbey'

I watched a repeat of 'The Ghost of Causton Abbey' episode on ITV3 and had to give this one 9/10. A party to promote a new ale at an ancient abbey turns sour when a body boiled to death is found in a vat. There is a really sinister looking monk in a cowl with a bottle of ale in his hands to greet the guests. That should have been ominous enough.

This episode introduced Annette Badland as Fleur the pathologist. Among the party guests is Elaine Paige as an egotistical actress. I was waiting for one of her famous throaty chortles but she had to keep it serious. This is good old-fashioned mystery story telling with an ancient abbey curse as it's theme. I hope ITV3 continue to repeat some more episodes from the 2019 ITV series.

I don't remember a lot about this episode but I do remember the introduction of Fleur. I like her and her no-nonsense attitude.
