Hollywood loves to portray southern white men as evil stupid racists, heres the actual FACTS about interracial rape in the USA. Notice how these are buried by the mainstream media year after year. Thats political correctness for you.

Before you read this and accuse me of being a racist, consider this. I am merely presenting official state statistics. This alone results that alarm bells screaming "racism!!" go off in your head. Why? Because thats what you have been conditioned to believe.

Thank you Wierbowski, for the enlightening statistics! They really put this piece of crap movie into perspective. This movie basically lectures whites to "rethink their evil ways", and the fact that it came right on the heels of most blacks celebrating for joy becaause a mostly black jury let OJ get away with murdering a white woman made me want to throw things at the movie screen. Political correctness is all about lecturing the wrong people.

According to officers who worked on the case, OJ's DNA matched that found at the crime scene...the DNA which was suspected of being the perpetrator's DNA.

But...because one officer on the case supposedly used the N word a few times, that DNA evidence got thrown out of court and a murderer walked free. Oh, and not to mention the documented cases of domestic violence OJ committed against his wife in the months leading up to her murder!

15 years later OJ is involved in another felony offense, armed robbery. Gee, what a surprise!

I think Misa proves a point I had. A very large number of blacks don't care about justice per se, they'll just side with the black regardless. I said the throngs of blacks that celbrated OJ's acquittal in 1995 were either idiots or had evil hearts. Misa confirms the evil hearts theory. Of course, there are good and bad in every race. Good blacks were the ones who werer appalled by OJ's acquittal. Remember that the next time you see Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton marching against some supposed case of racial injustice.

Wow, you're either really stupid or scathingly ignorant. How many African Americans in this country have been lynched or beaten to death at the hands of white mobs? Where was the strong call for justice by white people then? Look up Emmit Till. His murderers were finally brought to "justice" 50+ years later. He was only 14 when he was beaten so severely that half his face was bashed in. At the original trial, the four white men who went around bragging that they were the perpetrators were allowed to fraternize with their families, hold their children; they were laughing and smiling throughout the entire court proceeding that even the judge called "ridiculous". Of course an all white jury did not convict them. Seems they were convinced that Emmit Till deserved to die because he had whistled at a white woman. Talk about evil! Fast forward to 1995- same sh!t, different day. White people wanted OJ to hang and would've done it themselves, if they could. No Black person in their right mind is going to co-sign that. Sorry...

I'm white. An anglophone French-Canadian to be exact, if that makes sense?
So, plenty of shame and anger here from me amidst our fractured national identity... The French here in North America were once proud and powerful colonialists, then, betrayed by their motherland, expandable undesirables, then, even until a few decades ago, subjugated second-class folks with limited rights; this grants us a worldview that, albeit a major plus, does have drawbacks (a tendency to whine and still blame the English for our provincial mismanagement woes being one).
Reason for that preamble: a fair portion of Quebecers embrace a healthier view of "whiteness" than most cultures, I find, regardless of skin colour. There's no such thing as a "white race"; no fooling! What is truly embarrassing and shameful is the 17th century concept of "white people" and its firmly ingrained vestiges, as it is a purely fictitious, social, hierarchical construct created by and for the benefit of European colonialists and slavery ("whiteness" was also applied in Asia and elsewhere). That said, unjustly fierce, self-serving, resource-depleting, ethnocentric colonialism and the still-prevalent attitude and practices it spawned, that's what I'm deeply ashamed of, and not my skin colour.
Once people accept this it becomes easier to examine, assess one's feelings, accept, and address the issues directly, from prejudice to street gangs, rather than get lost in the too-common black-or-white arguments (pun intended) that deepen a senseless divide.
So, although I fully agree with your comment, the way it's stated perfectly exemplifies that major two-way hurdle that's still far from being tackled...

Also, and though many parallels can be drawn between the two, I do think that Misa's O.J. comparison is far from the right one to bring up for many reasons, his motivation, his status, and the way his "white-world" fame was exploited being just some.
People's current, highly polarized opinions on the L.A. Riots and on Rodney King offer a fairer comparison, IMO.

Believe it or not, that does not mean it was OJ's DNA/blood at the scene, and I am not talking about anything with astronomical odds. Think about it.

You clearly don't know much about the OJ trial. The blood DNA evidence was thrown out because:
1) it wasn't found in the initial crime scene investigation
2) it contained EDTA, an anticoagulant only present in blood taken from samples and processed by a lab.
3) the racist cop was a racist cop. he had been caught framing black people. it wasn't his first time with open racial hostility.
4) said cop was caught in possession of blood samples from all three primaries(Ron, Nicole, and OJ).

#4 alone would get any normal case thrown out, but this trial was too high profile so Ito let it slide.

Further more, if you really look into the trial you would know there was gross mishandling of the crime scene, especially the initial one. Some blood pools clearly present in crime scene photos weren't even sampled. Exculpatory evidence was withheld and ignored by the prosecution. Detectives were instructed not to follow up on good leads.
There was a man who was caught stalking Nicole up to her death(arrested on unrelated charge but they found a notepad in his possession detailing her movements in the weeks prior to her death). When asked, he said he was hired to follow her and eventually approached to kill Nicole for cash, but turned down the offer. He had a feeling he was being set up to take the fall.

Simpson's son, Jason, then 24, was never considered a suspect in the murder, even though he had a history of domestic violence and no reliable alibi. The cops never even interviewed him. He lawyered up immediately.

That whole trial was an embarrassment. It is scary to see how many mistakes were made and that was a high publicity trial.

This film is preposterous for any number of reasons. The idea that a couple of "good ol' boys" can hoon around a black neighbourhood assaulting people and not get killed, walk by themselves (and unarmed) through a group of blacks into a black store while the "gentle, passive blacks" look on but do nothing.

It's true that white on black rape is virtually nonexistant, that being said, it is within the character of the "good ol' boys" to commit the crime depicted in the film. However, the justification of Sam Jackon's character is that it happened previously and the men were acquitted.

The extraordinarily insulting ending though is the worst, where the laywer implies that the only way that a white jury could feel sympathy for a raped child is to imagine said child was white. The jury wasn't deciding on whether the boys did or not, they were deciding on whether it was lawful (not right or wrong, but lawful) for Jackson's character to gun down the accused on arraignment, and a guard who for purposes of the story wasn't killed. Here's a hint: it wasn't.

Maybe you should check your statistics on how many black women are raped every year by black men, you might be in for quite a shocker! The biggest enemy blacks have ever had is their fellow blacks. Almost half the murder victims in the U.S. every year are blacks who are murdered by other blacks. Remember that blacks are only about 12% of the population!

Considering that slave owners only made up a small percentage of the overall U.S. population, I would take it that not that many slave women were raped, at least compared to modern times it probably wouldn't seem like a large number.

I'd hate to say it too, but an African who has some Caucasian genes can consider that to be a real blessing! Caucasians score higher on IQ tests, have better academic performance, and attain greater economic success.

It is amazing to me to see the many comments to this movie. I'll be accused of getting on my high horse, I suppose....but here goes.

First of all, we, and I do mean all of us, in our society, do not reward:

Rape
Murder
Vigilante activity

We do not reward rape or murder because they fundamentally ripe apart the very fabric of society. They inflict pain and suffering on the victims that is beyond calculation. The ripples of violence spread throughout the community in ways that are difficult to grasp and undercut the society's just demand for order and decency across all social groups. We therefore, punish rape and murder for it offers no enduring positive affirmation of life itself!

We do not reward vigilante activity because it fundamentally undercuts police authority which we, as the public have afforded to a select group of fellow citizens, to protect us from behaviors that produce chaos and overwhelm our basic right to the pursuit of happiness if left unchecked.

These 3 behaviors are not acceptable by anyone in our society nor are they anywhere around the globe as far as I can tell.

Secondly....this is a movie. While the story is appealing and popular to my mind as well...and the outcome satisfies our own personal fantasy of revenge and popular justice....it has nothing to do with actual pursuit of justice. Regardless of the fact that no one can ignore the plight of the father and his pain for his daughter, the fantasy of a successful trial should not be taken as anything more than the momentary and temporary high achieved by so many MOVIES.

Obviously these offical statistics are fake, the US Department of Justice is clearly racist. In fact the entire US government is racist, nobody discriminates more against black people than the evil white supremacist Obama :) :) :)

In other news, mathematics are also racist. Clearly math is discriminating against blacks.

Also, physics, chemistry and all sciences are racist.

In fact, every academic pursuit is racist, keepin da brothas down, forcing them to play basketball and rap, when clearly they would rather be solving mathematic equations like the cool white kids.

You do know that these are only reported rapes right? A significant number of rapes go unreported every single year. That being said, even if no black women were raped by white men it doesn't mean that it can't happen. This novel/movie is about one case, that is all.
