All racial aspects and discussion aside...

Was Carl Lee right in what he did? Was it right for him to take the law into his own hands like that? Do you feel it's right for anyone to seek violent revenge on anyone else who've wronged them or someone they love?

No, it isn't. Assuming you live on a place in which justice generally works.

The thing, and the main point of the whole thing however DO involve the racial aspects and they are fundamental to the matter at hand, so I am afraig that in order to have an objective take on the case that is presented to us in this movie particularly, it results IMPOSSIBLE to put aside the racial aspects.

We are talking about a place with a long history of unfair dealings towards black people, where justice is often biased, partial, corrupted and unfair.

The perspective changes entirely under these facts.

If the legal system didn't give them a decent chance of getting off or getting a minor sentence, Carl Lee wouldn't have had to resort to taking the law into his hands.
