The ending was lackluster

It's funny how the racism problem got totally thrown out of the window once they won the case. Triumphant soundtrack begins. It's almost as if the aftermath has cleansed the past. The film gives no attention to the fact that now Lee would've needed to cope with the harsh reality of helping his emotionally destroyed daughter go through some very tough times.

Speaking of the girl, it almost seemed like she had never been raped and beaten up at all. She was all smiley and content by the end of the movie. I get it, maybe she was happy because her father wasn't going do die/get imprisoned for life, but still...

Also the KKK guys' arresting. Wow tell me about ridiculous. The sheriff "hey you 2 baddies over there! you're under arrest ;-))))"

And then he pushes the other officer to get with the other 2 baddies almost saying "hey I know ur a baddy too! yeh we got all you baddies! Haaaappy ending!"

Look, the movie was good, but this ending was SO childish. It completely ignored that the aftermath would still be very harsh to deal with. This is not a feel good flick and yet they inject this fantasy forged ending just to please the audience.

I agree, I didn't expect the trial to be the end because of the bigger picture around it.
