Why was the Kari Wuhrer mad?

We all know the scene where she is tempting him and lifting her skirt, lovely scene for sure. But soon after that she flips the bird at him and spits on the ground. As if she has been insulted by him. Why?

reply

The woman he killed was her grandmother.

reply

Wrong. The accident didn't happen until AFTER the bird flipping scene.

reply

Because Billy's associate told him to give her a quarter and she would lift her skirt. It is implied that she used her gypsy skills to "overhear" this conversation thereby reacting the way she did.

reply

Billy chided his associate for that remark. Really, the gypsy woman was just a two dimensional psycho throughout the whole movie. Most of her script must have been "scream" with the stage direction of "pull back on a slingshot".

This was a decent story, but the script and direction could have been developed a bit further.

I think she did it because Billy could have done something to avoid having them kicked out of the park. He didn't. I see no other reason. 

She used her gypsy powers to overhear the earlier conversation about her lifting her skirt for a quarter. It likely angered her that these men were objectifying her.

She was also a massive psycho, as demonstrated by later incidents throughout the movie.

reply

You're right. Look at what she & her husband did to that "mook" who just went to scope them out. That's all he did & look at the way he got killed. REAL psycho! She's certainly not a sympathetic character, that's for sure.

reply

she was mocking his conversation heard earlier.. about lifting her skirt for a quarter etc.

anyway she was HAWT

reply

It was over the conversation he'd had with one of his colleagues, about giving her a quarter to lift her skirt.

Billy called him out for it, though, so I don't know why she was that upset with him.
