Worst moments of Jimmy

1) In the airplane, when Guy tells him that Faye is sick. Jimmy just ignores it and keeps talking to Mr White.

2) "I should have dumped you in Pittsburgh"

3) Flirting with Diane Dane while still dating Faye.

Did I miss anything?

P.S. In extended version, there is actually a moment when Jimmy shows his good side - helping to lead Faye out of the Villipiano's during the riot.
I think it's a good thing they removed this scene from theatrical version, since it goes against his character.

so you think that all people have one dimensional dump character like yourself!!

i mostly will not be able to answer your reply, since marissa mayer hacked my email, no notification

Not rescuing Faye when she was mistaken for fan.

I think Guy also kinda stirred the pot when they were all at the breakfast table in the Ambassador, and Jimmy starts going on about what Diane Dane said about record labels.

I think Guy recognized the growing gap between Jimmy and Faye, and he then says, "Diane Dane. What did she say?" knowing that Faye felt there was something going on between Jimmy and Diane, and that further discussion would make the gap even wider.

I never took it as him stirring the pot, more trying to subtle call out Jimmy for being a jerk.

1) "It's too fast!! Too fast! It's a ballad" - Even though the entire audience was dancing and loving it, as well as the judges

2) "She's uh..sorta my um..girlfriend" - Even though Faye from her first scene is helping them make a band name---says they were together for 2 and a half years--she's at all their shows, knows all their lyrics, he looks at her sometimes when he plays but can't actually announce they are together even though he wants her on tour with them

3) When Faye almost got left behind leaving their show in Wisconsin in the midst of crazy fans and Guy was the one who realized she was missing and went and grabbed her and escorted her to the car. - Even though that is Jimmy's responsibility as the boyfriend and he didn't even notice. How??

4) When Guy tells Jimmy Faye is sick and he ignores it and keeps talking about cutting a new record.- Clearly just doesn't think about Faye's needs.

5) When they are in a movie doing something silly and fun and he can't just relax, and is scowling the entire time ---when they probably got paid, it's still exposure, and it's literally just a fun opportunity most people would enjoy.

6) When he flips his shi* about the whole being engaged thing. --So yes, it was surprising, he's young, committed to his music, blah blah but the way he took it out on Faye, then was accusing everyone around him NEEDING an answer, like that just ruined his life even though he just played his hit song on a hit tv show and Faye said it perfectly "You're ruining this beautiful moment" That night should have been nothing but joyous and celebratory. Everything they achieved in 2 months alone was broadcasted to America and he's miserable because what? People assume he might be engaged? As if that will ruin his music career? You're okay bringing your GF on tour with you---but don't want anyone to know it's serious?? Then says he should have dumped her in Pittsburgh. When she was nothing but loving and supportive and helpful to the band all because she loved him so much and thought the feeling was mutual. I am confused to how he felt about her at all---and why he allowed her to go on tour if that's how he really felt.

7) Flirting with Diane Dane right in front of Faye at the bar. - Wtf? And just to show her hey look we are number 21 on the billboard like a desperate little fan trying to brag. Just made him look stupid. And that woman was like 46 and ugly.

8) QUITTING THE BAND the first time they step foot in a real recording studio because his BOSS wanted some different music *at first*---- Can we say the most stubborn, impatient, ignoarnt, arrogant, entitled, dumbest move on the planet? You're signed with a huge label, blowing up in two months, and can't record what your boss tells you before you write more of your own music? --- And it's frustrating that at the end of the film when it says where they end up-- He goes back to Playtone and records 3 gold records for them. So he ruins it for Guy who got them there really, and Lenny and that new bass player. He wises up I guess. But only after ruining it for everyone else and screwing over Mr. White and the contract.

9) Everytime Faye kissed him or showed him affection, he gave none in return and had a serious look on his face and basically ignored her. Basically ignored her throughout the film. -- I really wish, because the only thing that bothers me about this amazing film, is how underdeveloped the Faye/Jimmy relationship is. It makes no sense. She gave that speech as if they were so in love, and obviously they were serious considering she was on tour with them and he asked for it. Just wish they showed maybe some scenes where he looked like he cared.... because to save up stuff for songs, hed HAVE to care a little? To make ballads or songs about love you have to experience love and he couldn't even admit they were a real thing. Just made no sense.

10) His personality in general. He was too serious all the time--- Even though he loves music and writing and his band was blowing the eff up and he was worrying about the dumbest things instead of enjoying the ride which was actually going in the perfect direction.

Amen.

Pretty much every time Jimmy opened his mouth was his worst moments, except for when he was singing. He was a rude, conceited, arrogant control freak with no sense of humor or personality. He was a very believable character, played perfectly by Johnathon Schaech. Even though he wasn't a likable character, I liked that he wound up being a successful musician and record producer and wasn't just written off like some stereotypical villianous character who wound up with nothing in the end. It just made it that much more believable.

This goes with flirting with Diane Dane, but when she's doing the rehearsal he's sitting at the piano bench which obviously if you aren't the pianist not just anyone gets to sit there and he lets her rub all up against him.
