In some places online I go where fans are discussing Lola, there are those who prefer the LTS Lola over this movie's Lola, because they think the SJ Lola was "boring, bland, unfunny, and un-slapstick". Well, I disagree! So what if she doesn't suffer from slapstick? That doesn't mean she can't be a Looney Tune! So what if she wasn't in the original shorts? Who cares! So what if her personality is sexy, strong-minded, and independent? That doesn't make her a bad character! It also doesn't mean she doesn't have a personality! Plus, for those of you who think she's not funny, I kinda find her funny in a rather subtle way. Ever think about that? Finally, considering her so called "sex appeal". Where do these people get off calling us furries "perverts" (or "furverts", however you look at it) and claiming that the sole reason Lola exists is to give us furries something to be attracted to or even masturbate to? Did it ever occur to you that SHE WASN'T CREATED FOR THAT REASON?!!!! She was created to show how much women have their potential, which I strongly support. So what if she doesn't suffer any Looney Tunes antics or slapstick or "amusing" injuries? That doesn't mean she can't be labeled as a Looney Tune! It's just like real people: we're NOT all perfect, and we never will be!

And in case anybody asks, yes, I am completely against the way Lola is portrayed on the Looney Tunes Show, due to her empty-headed stalking behavior. THAT is what REALLY makes women look bad! It's not even funny! Strong and independent makes for a better female character, something that the LTS writers obviously never considered when making that horrible show!

Anybody agree with me and willing to defend the SJ Lola? I'm open for support!

That's where I really have to disagree. The fact that that's all there is to her character and that that's how she was written to me proves why she's a bad character. She's a cookie cutter tough girl.

There is a trend in Hollywood today to add more heroines to their stories, which in itsself is a great idea. That means the female audience has something to look up to. But when you write a character you don't just say: 'Give me a strong woman!'. That's not a character, that's a bland archetype. Strength has to come out of a character naturally. He/she needs a reason to be strong, not just being strong for the sake of it. A strong woman with a flawless personality is not relatable, she only becomes relatable when she has to work with her flaws or overcome them. You first need to be weak in order to be believable as a strong character.

Daffy Duck is considered a screwball character while Porky Pig is more of the everyman. But those are just labels. There's a lot more to their personalities than a simple description. They are characters who were developed by several artists over the years until they were fleshed out to be what they are today.

What's wrong with having characters with negative features? What matters is whether they're good characters in their own right. Daffy is funny because he's greedy, hyperactive and cynical. Bugs Bunny is funny because he's cunning but mean spirited. Porky Pig is funny because he's innocent, insecure and easy to manipulate. It's the exaggeration of human flaws that makes these characters Looney. Comedy comes from acknowledging all the misery in life.

Space Jam's Lola is a poorly written character. She's strong, but strong characters are overrated. Whether you find Lola from the LTS funny or not: she's more three-dimensional and therefore has more qualities that are needed to make her funny. Every paradise needs a snake and every superhero needs his own kryptonite. A strong female character with no flaws is like Superman without kryptonite: BORING!

At least the LTS Lola is more of a callback to Babs Bunny than original Lola.

Lol no. This movie's Lola was way better because she wasn't a freaking idiot. I like this Lola and baby Lola on the Baby Looney Tunes show.
