Ultimate nostalgia movie for mid-20s age bracket?

I saw this movie when I was 8. I feel like the people who like this movie grew up with it. People who were older didn't like it, younger didn't get it, and people watching it today think it sucks.

However I feel like myself and many of the peers around my age within a few years give or take, grew up with this film and love it. I think we all remember seeing it in theaters and MJ was the man and we were blown away by real people interacting with beloved cartoon characters (it had been done in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but not all of us knew that...or if we did it was still awesome).

As I look back at this movie, I just have a fondness for it because I saw it in theaters and just loved it as a kid, and I remember all my friends talking about their favorite parts at school. To this day I am a huge fan of Michael Jordan despite not being an NBA fan, because of this movie. Also I didn't even know how great Bill Murray was when I was that young, now I can go back and while some parts suffer with age, the appreciation for Murray gets better.

I feel like if you are about 23-26 and saw it when it came out, chances are you loved this. Anyone else, chances are you hate it.

I'm 25 now, I think I saw it when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, saw it with the whole fam in theaters too.

It was on tv yesterday and watched it. Lots of memories of my childhood and the true heyday of the NBA.

I'm in the same boat as you. Is it a great movie? No, but it has that factor of taking me back to simpler times and when the NBA was effing awesome.

I actually remember not being a big Looney Tunes fan at the time, but how could you not watch them team up with his Royal Airness?

haha yes! love this movie, and i feel the exact same away about Bill Murray.. Only difference is that I'm a pretty avid fan on the NBA. It's on TV right now and I'm pumped.

I'm 23 and I loved it to death as a kid but when I watched it again last year I thought it was kind of awful.

I'm in the mid-twenties, loved this movie as a kid, love it now.

I saw this when it came out at 11, so even though I was a little bit older it's still nostalgic to me.

This movie came out 2 weeks before my 13th birthday. I saw it with my mom and younger sister, and we all enjoyed it. I don't think I've seen it since the late 90's, but it's definitely something I'd watch with my kid once they're old enough to enjoy it.

I look at my red hands and my mean face, and I wonder about that man that's gone so wrong.

It's up there, I think you'd have to add in Jurassic Park, the Matrix, Independence Day, and Toy Story.

I'm on this forum because Space Jam was on TV yesterday. It's pure nostalgia for me. I'm in my late 20's. I watched it, must have been the first time in 10 years.

Our school used to have a "film club" once every 3 months. Mostly the filmed sucked and were 70's films. It was a fundraiser for the school. It would be half full if that, because the films sucked.

Our projector was broke. So our school put an advert out over the radio asking for donations for a new projector. A couple of days later a blind man came forward and bought our school a new projector so we could have film club again.

Anyway, the usual letter came out. Telling kids film club was 2 weeks away and it would be £1.10. This included a packet of crisps (wouldn't be able to do that these days) and a drink while the projector reels were changed halfway through the film.

Anyway, the film was Space Jam. We couldn't believe it! It wasn't even out in the cinemas at the time in the UK. I'm guessing the advert managed to get it. The film had huge hype and everyone wanted to watch it across the UK. Which I still don't understand. As basketball and Michael Jordan wasn't very popular over here in the UK.

It was the best film club our school ever had. I don't think a single person missed it. It was packed and everyone really enjoyed the film.

I don't like the movie very much anymore, but it's undeniably nostalgic.

The whole movie just reeks of the late 90's somehow.
