Not sure what the format had to do with anything but, hey, it's okay. You may not be among the target audience for this film. I think it was marketed towards mature adults not the undeveloped minds of young children.
Perhaps you can give it another shot in a few years. It may make more sense to you then.
If you judge people in that way, then you won't like this film. 'Lower class' people can still be nice. Doyle wasn't; Doyle was a jerk - but that had nothing to do with his background. The way you describe people shows that you lack empathy, so a film like this is obviously way over your head.
