6/10 (a mild Thumbs Up)
it's decent but nothing special as i just finished re-watching it just now on April 5th 2016 and it's taken a hit since my previous re-watch of it on July 25th-26th 2012 as back then it was still a 7.5-8/10 but i been going threw some of the movies i have not seen in a few-ish years lately and seeing if they still hold up or not. this one mostly did not even though i still do slightly like it (it's got it's bits and pieces that are good but the movie as a whole only mildly interests me now) and will eventually see it again.
-----------------------------------------------------
for whatever it's worth here is how many of each score i have given out...
10/10 = 17 movies
9/10 = 25 movies
SOLID 8/10 (i.e. 8/10 or 8-8.5/10) = 41 movies
7.5-8/10 = 62 movies
7/10 (i.e. 6.5-7/10, 7/10, 7-7.5/10) = 87 movies
total of 232 movies got a 7 or higher from me out of the 1,950+ total movies i have seen.
so as you can see i don't hand out scores above a 6/10 often simply because most movies just don't interest/entertain me to a higher degree.

Thanks for sharing your ratings. It's always interesting to me to learn how others rate movies.
I'm easily pleased because I limit my movie watching to actors, directors, producers and, sometimes, cinematographers that I like. I give a 7 to movies I don't care to see again, but would watch if it happens to be on TV and I have nothing else to do. I would never again watch movies I've rated 6 or 5.
I have rated 1758 movies, breakdown as follows:
10 - 79
9 - 352
8 - 576
7 - 562
6 - 166
5 - 23

A solid 6/10 from me as well.
The characters and their situations smack of real life while the unhurried story is interesting enough. There are well-done moments of meditation and revelation, as well as touching ones.
It's a tad overlong, however, and the politically correct glorification of Vaughan (Ritter) is eye-rolling. Karl (Thornton) observes that "The Bible says two men ought not lay together. But I don't reckon the Good Lord would send anybody like you to Hades." Yet his opining doesn't mean much since he candidly acknowledges elsewhere that he doesn't understand a lot of the Scriptures, not to mention his foolish predilection for murder to solve mundane problems. He should stick to fixing lawnmowers and eating them French fried potaters, mmm-hmm.

10/10
shareI rated it a 10 also.
Out of 500 ratings, I've given only 15 films a perfect 10. This is one of them.
It's a close to perfect as a movie gets in my opinion.
A well-deserved 10/10 from me.

9/10, I thought it was a very good movie although what happens to Doyle at the end really surprised me.
share 8.5 out of 10
Fwiw I’ve never given a movie a 10 out of 10
