What scene made you cry?

The scene that made my chin quiver and caused tears to fall down my face was when Karl tells Vaughn that Frank lives in his heart and how he reckons that doing that hurts him. I guess he's saying Frank is too sensitive but he says it in a way that is loving. I could barely take it. I'm emotional just writing this.

I laughed when Doyle got drunk and mad and threw all those people out of his... errr.... Linda's house.

Well, honestly, none of the scenes made me actually cry.

But I did think the scene when Carl basically tells Frankie goodbye was pretty sad. And also the scene when he was at Vaughn's doorstep, also saying his goodbyes. That was sad too. There were a lot of sad scenes throughout the movie.

I didn't cry but I do sometimes feel sorrow for innocent people who've been treated so shabbily. I come from a very dysfunctional family which has been horrible but nothing like what happened to Karl.
Over the years I've told friends I think Sling Blade is the best movie of the 90's.

When the long-suffering Doyle, who had put up with a town full of idiots driving him crazy, and frustrating and boring him for years, and tolerating a shrewish wife and bratty ungrateful stepson was brutally murdered by the homicidal maniac, Karl, who had been released from the mental hospital in a tragic case of psychiatric mismanagement.

For me it was when he was saying goodbye to Vaughn. I had not watched this movie until around 2010, so John Ritter had already died 😢
