What scene made you cry?

The scene that made my chin quiver and caused tears to fall down my face was when Karl tells Vaughn that Frank lives in his heart and how he reckons that doing that hurts him. I guess he's saying Frank is too sensitive but he says it in a way that is loving. I could barely take it. I'm emotional just writing this.

What scene made you emotional?

When he finishes his french fried pertatetzz

The scene where the burger flipper tells Karl they don't have biscuits.
A meal without biscuits is like a day without sunshine.

Cry? There's no cryin' in Sling Blade.

I choked up completely when Karl told Frank the story about how his parents made him get rid of his little brother, and how he dealt with it.

There were some other moments as well, but that was terrible...

I agree. The part where Karl tells Frank how his parents made him get rid of his newborn brother made me tear up.

reply

That is a very painful scene.

Part that gets me every time is where Karl and Frank are sitting in the woods and Karl is telling him goodbye. "Think I wanna put my arm around ye for a minute. I love you, boy." And when Frank pulls out the bookmark and reads it, omg...bang.

In the DVD commentary BBT says he cried filming that scene.

My weep was when he first meets the kid, then goes the store to meet his mum/mom.
The start of the friendship began there. :) I felt for him as he followed the kid into his new world.

Cheers.

When he visits his brother's grave and right at the end when he said the world was too big for him and gets up to stand looking out the window.

'Buffalo hunting? I've gone buffalo huntin'? What the *beep* does that mean? Buffalo huntin'!'

reply

I didn't cry, but the hard part for me was when the girl brought him flowers. Carl is totally incapable of returning her affection in a way she could understand, and it seemed like it confused and hurt her.
