Not scary and no gore.
But somehow I still love it.
share I found it scary enough! At least the first time I saw it. The Scream movies are always on my list of "must see" during October. I bring them out and watch them again. The first one was really much more suspenseful than all out horror and gore. I thought it was more in line with Hitchcock and his suspenseful way of presenting scary stuff.
There was a bit more gore in the case of death of Steve, Casey's boyfriend. But they had to edit it out. It didn't pass the censors. That was fine by me. His death was horrific enough.
I've always preferred horror/slasher movies that rely on suspense instead of gore and horror.
shareI've seen the movie so many times, it doesn't give me the same feeling anymore. But because the movie has such a realistic premise, it creeped me out for the longest time. Especially when home alone at night and the phone or door bell rang or when looking out into the back yard.
