Corn Syrup..just like they used for the pigs blood in Carrie...
So..How was Billy going to explain away his clothes and skin being loused with Corn Syrup to the cops?
shareSo..How was Billy going to explain away his clothes and skin being loused with Corn Syrup to the cops?
shareHe wasn't planning to. Part of his plan was to actually get stabbed. He was trusting that his actual blood would cover the corn syrup. And that his story would be tight enough so no one would investigate closer. Then he would've gotten rid of the clothes.
shareWhy would he need to explain it? Why would it make anyone think he was the real murderer trying to mislead Sidney? It just seems like a prank kids would pull at a party.
shareThose kids weren't playing tricks on each other. They were drinking, screwing, and doing drugs. His shirt was done up to look as if he was attacked brutally was bleeding out. If the cops came and took his shirt for evidence, when they took samples of the blood and realize it's not blood...it's going to raise questions...and when they bring him in for questioning, I would love to see how he explains his way out his shirt bring covered in corn syrup with red food coloring added to it....
Let's even say that one of the person's who replied to this' "theory" holds water....and they were "playing pranks on each other at a party" and billy tells the detective this ..thus getting involved numerous other kids who were at the party....once the detective questions any other kids billy name-drops who participated in this so called prank...the cops will bring them in and realize billy was lying.
"Those kids weren't playing tricks on each other"
If Billy said they were playing pranks, who was going to contradict it? What if he said it was Stu? Or someone anonymous with a mask? The others were drunk and never even saw Billy, why would they deny it happened? These were the same kids who thought it was funny running through the hallways dressed up as Ghostface, why would the police not expect a prank like that?
There's no reason for them to question any further when Billy says it's a prank. Why on earth would they understand he did it because he's actually the killer? We only get it because we saw the explanation. You're looking at this too much from the viewpoint of the audience and not the police in the movie.
Also, Stu and Billy messed up royally, but if everything had gone according to plan, their story would've confirmed the police's belief (and the phone records) that Neil was the killer. The case would've been closed and I doubt that the police of such a small town would've even gone as far as testing blood samples. It's not like they're obliged to do so.
"You're looking at this too much from the viewpoint of the audience and not the police in the movie."
Also I watch a ton of true crime shows lol
Law & Order is NOT true crime...
Let's not forget this is the same town where Cotton was convicted on the basis of an eye witness account and the presence of Maureen's blood on his coat. Apparently they didn't bother to do any other forensic testing.
But yeah, I'm sure that in real life police would immediately assume Billy is a serial killer because of some sticky substance on his shirt.π
Not law n order...dateline, 2020, 48hours....I said true crime...not fictional murder mysteries
shareWhat exactly is your point, sweetie? Were there any real life cases where the police realized a teenage boy who seemed like the sole survivor of a killing spree, was actually a serial killer who tried to mislead his girlfriend before killing her because they found a sticky substance on his shirt?
shareI made my point several replies ago....
shareThat you have a lot of free time on your hands...thanks for the info...
share2 days a week I have lots of free time...this week I had even more because I put in PTO for a 3rd day...yay for 3 day weekend's.
shareGood for you. With that much free time I recommend you watch the true crime show Still a Mystery, which features people who claim the police were too quick to close cases of a deceased loved one and dismissed their deaths as accidents or suicides without proper investigstion.π
shareI have Actually seen a few episodes of it. It's pretty good.
shareWell, in that case, I'm sure you get my point.π
shareI do not get your point. Enjoyed the back n fourth tho. If you want you can follow me on Twitter where we can engage in more pointless discussions. - Shibez1
shareNah, I'm sure you have more than enough followers. If not, you can always talk to yourself. At least you'll have someone to agree with you. Have a nice day!
shareNo reason to assume that they'd do forensic testing on every single article of clothing if they think it's an open and shut case
Pretty sure even in real life it'd be possible to get away with using a bit of fake blood
But the Scream movies take place in a different reality of Horror movies where the police are basically useless
