The acting was kind of campy. The vidual effects were bad and stunts were over the top.

When it came out though I loved it! I saw it in the theaters.

The first Mission Impossible is still the best of the series.

100% agree. Great spy film! Feel like calling a 30 year old movie "dated" is also beyond stupid.

I watched it recently and I think it holds up incredibly well. The train chase scene with the helicopter is still a blast and the climax when the theme kicks in ("red light, green light!") is one of the best moments in the series.
