Funny that Maximum Risk isn't mentioned in your list. This is the board for that movie. Not important. What is important is that this movie is pretty good. Not just for Van Damme but good in general.
No one should fault JCVD for trying to do something different while maintaining the attributes that made him popular in the first place.
It's definitely Van Damme's best made film of the 90s and sits in my top 10.
1. Hard Target
2. Sudden Death
3. Double Impact
4. Kickboxer
5. Bloodsport
6. Maximum Risk
7. Time Cop
8. Lionheart
9. In Hell
10. Wake of Death

Death Warrant is fkcing hilarious!
"I collect blondes and bottles" - The Big Sleep
Death Warrant is the most ridiculous Van Damme film ever made, and therefore is in my #11 spot. It and Maximum Risk are practically polar opposites. That is exactly why I love it.

i don't believe there are any good van damme films made.
especially when your from belgium, as i am, and you've seen him on tv shows and interviews...he's just so plain stupid.
death warrant is indeed the most stupid film he's done, and that is exactly why I love it.
"I collect blondes and bottles" - The Big Sleep
Nowhere To Run
Hard Target
Maximum Risk
Knock Off
From a variety of perspectives, including action sequences but also writing, acting, and cinematography, these are probably his best all around films. I do like JCVD.
Been a fan of Damme since I was a kid, and into adulthood I like B movies so I have stayed a fan. He's just absurd in a way only the French (including Belgian French) can be. France is home of l'absurde!
Im a fan of Tournament movies in general, so i got to say my favorite is Bloodsport, but this may look strange to some, but i prefer Bloodsport 2 in general in the serie even tough Number 1 has more classic moments, i think Bloodsport 2 had better fights and an even stronger story.
After that i think as most people his first half of his career hold the best really, but i like a bunch in the second half as well... i think it would be easier to list the movies i DON'T like about Van Damme
1) Inferno/Desert Heat... What a turd... stupid characters, stupid story, barely no fighting... stink like *beep* really..
2) Dragon Eyes , not really a Van Damme movie, as he is not the main star, but its disapointing cause the main character can definitately fight, and the fights are good, but there could had been more of them, but my main point is the STUPID AS HELL storyline that totally destroyed the movie...
3) Knock Off , i don't know, the story didn't interested me much, and the fight was also nothing impressiv either...Weird cause Knock Off is actually just 98... not even in the post 2000 era of Van Damme
4) Street Fighter... This is a bit unfair... i guess, because as a kid i LOVED this movie... but as i grew older i realized how absurd it was(pretty much like Batman & Robin), how a big mess it was, and how plainly just bad. I liked(keyword liked) Street Fighter as a kid, i i was so happy to see those character come to life, but i saw it again a couple year ago and realized how bad it was...damn, it feel so ridiculous... funny thing i still like The Legend of Chun Li, and even to this day i still really like Mortal Kombat the movie, even if its biggest flaw was always the no gore aspect and having SubZero and Scorpion on the same side... Don't mention the second movie tough, as ridiculous as Street Fighter.
After that, sure there is a couple movies i didn't really got crazy over, like The Order, The Hard Corps, Double Team, Death Warrant and such, but ther fun enough for me.
But lets just say for my REALLY favorite JCVD movies, i think Bloodsport, In Hell and Lionheart are top 3, but there some i really like , Maximum Risk, Double Impact, Universal Soldier, and such
Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!

"I'm just a happy camper! Rockin' and a-rollin'!" - Patrick Bateman, American Psycho
I've seen most of his 80s and 90s movies as a kid, but haven't watched most of them in years, so I'll only include the ones I've watched recently.
Bloodsport
No Retreat, No Surrender
Kickboxer
Enemies Closer
Knock Off
Maximum Risk
Dragon Eyes (not really a Van Damme movie, but anyway)
Need to rewatch a lot of his 90s work to see how I feel about them now.
