yes! to a 5 year old this movie is just absolutely bizarre and disturbing. obviously a child of that age is not going to understand the parody nature and things so I certainly didn't

in retrospect it's funny to think that it seems so creep/scary at that age but all the same not too surprising with how absurd it all is

I had already been traumatized by Burton with Beetlejuice, at the age of 8 (a safe suburban kid like myself thought those previews looked fun, and soon found himself far away from the safety of Disney films!)

Mars Attacks is definitely odd and strange, with macabre and corniness.
