On a scale of 1-10
How good do you think this movie is?
share8. Tremendously underrated movie.
shareWould have been a 20 if the studio
hadn’t fucked with the script.
Funny you bring this up.
I literally just got done reading Shane's original script about an hour ago. I know that he had some complaints about the film, but honestly I was surprised by how close to the script the film sticks. He should've been happy with the end product. Not sure what he was wanting.
8 as well.
Lots of fun!
Favorite Geena Film.
Agreed. Highly underrated and, really, underseen. I watched this movie for the first time about a year ago and really enjoyed it, but when I went to talk to others about most had never even heard of it. A true hidden gem.
I actually am rewatching it right now and it's lots of fun the second time around, too. I feel bad for Geena and Renny; they deserved for the film to be a better performer than it was.
8/10
9. Agree underrated. -1 for that script thing too.
share7. Standard "amnesiac assassin" premise made far better thanks to Shane Black's direction and the caliber of its two leads. The action is decent for the most part. But the finale on the bridge is excellent.
shareShane wrote it, not directed. It was (surprisingly) directed by Renny Harlan. Why couldn't Renny do more like this?
share7.5. It is a criminally underrated movie. Davis and Jackson had great chemistry as an unlikely team and delivered a few laughs. Brian Cox was also great in a supporting role. Some of the action scenes were corny and a little over-the-top, but it was a really enjoyably film that I have no qualms about rewatching. FYI, Samuel Jackson says this is favorite film to watch of those he was in.
share9/10. Good fun. Would be 10/10 if it had full frontal nudity.
shareWatching it now after many years. It seems so disjointed now to be honest. The first part of the movie dragged but the second half made up for it.
