The Fleet starting the attack- waiting for the small group of soldiers to take down the shield…the small group eventually can deactivate the shield and the attack from the fleet can begin….

fighters attack a giant spaceship, one hits the only point which can destroy it, at the last possible second, as it closes in to destroy their hidden base, with a super powered laser cannon

There were no jedi, sith or even the force for that matter in this movie. This movie takes place on one planet unlike Star Wars. This has nothing to do with any episode of Star Wars

When the end credit appear, the music is SO MUCH wanting to be like Star Wars that it can only be an homage (or rip-off).

Yep, no coincidence. The original star wars trilogy was a huge influence on many films.

Harrison Ford's Solo being such a likeable rogue was basically a template for so many other movie characters, too. I think Will Smith even said that he based his character on him.
