I love love love the movie! Every time I'd go to rent one, I'd always rent TFWC! Finally, I own it! I bought it two days ago and I've already watched it 5 times! I'm a little obsessed.hehe. If anybody else out there loves this movie that much, I'd love to talk!

The song at the end is called "You Don't Own Me" and it was originally done by Leslie Gore. She originally did "It's My Party" too.
I really liked this movie. Happy endings are good and it shows that people can change for the better.
I don't think they could have picked three better women to play the leads.

ALL 3 ARE DIVORCED, AND SUE (my mom's friend) is big and friendly like Bette Midler and SHERRY (my mom's friend) is sophisticated and aging like Diane Keaton and MARLENE (MY MOM!) is like Goldie Hawn--wants to make sure her man gets it really bad! EVERYTIME ALL THREE FAMILIES GOT TOGETHER WE'D GO: let's leave guys--let the first wives club talk...it's funni.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who knows the dance at the end. It's great! I love this movie so much that even though I own it, I still watch it whenever it comes on t.v. Love it! I actually own two copies of the movie. Don't ask me why. It's just great!

I ADORE THIS MOVIE!!!! I saw it when it came on USA the other day and I absolutely fell in love with it. It's really funny and entertaining to watch, especially if you watch it with your girlfriends. I think I'm going to buy it later.

shareThis is quite possibly the most positive board I've ever seen. This is one of those movies that I don't know why I love it but I just do. Of all my movies, this is the most frequently watched in my collection. Best scenes are when they are trying to flee Morty's apartment and the 2 dances. I love how Keaton moves and how she wears the clothes. I crack up everytime I see the part were she bursts out solo...

shareI think Midler,Hawn and Keaton must have had a Ball in this film; It is a cute Friendship movie and I love it. Like the aforementioned Nine to Five(3 secretaries kick the boss where it hurts- His Ego), These ladies bonded together & chiselled their men down from their "High Horses". I think Miss Ivana fit well in this movie too, as a "First" wife.

I love this film too! It's hilarious! Midler, Hawn and Keaton did a great job and I'm very disapointed that the DVD doesn't include deleted scenes and the making of the film.

I also am disappointed the DVD doesn't have deleted scenes, my boyfriends cousin was an extra in the movie, he played Brenda's (bette midlers) son's friend at his bar mitzvah! He got to sit right next to Sarah Jessica Parker in one scene!! oh well, still a 10 out 10 movie for me!!
Whenever I need a lift and feel like a movie - FWC goes in the DVD player and before I know it I'm laughing and chuckling This film is just super!
Hopefully it will be reissued soon when HD DVDs start being released. Maybe then we'll get deleted scenes and some other goodies.

Whats so great about the movie? The women dragged themselves down by seeking vengence. They should have just moved on with their lives with new men. By seeking revenge all they've done is shown that their ex-husbands still mattered to them.
shareMaybe one of the points of the movie is that they don't NEED a new man in order to move on. I think the revenge thing was more for them getting out their rage than anything else. If you've ever been treated poorly by someone- man or woman- and you don't get any say in the matter, a lot of people might dream about some form of revenge. Maybe it isn't healthy, but it's human, and although in most cases it's not good to give into your darker nature, sometimes, you just have to. And sometimes, people just need their comeuppance.

I've seen this movie too many times to count, but I still burst out laughing during that window washer cart scene. I love when they stop at that couple's window. The look on Goldie Hawn's face as they start to fall again is priceless! I also love Guinilla's (sp) face when she sees them dropping.
