he's the head of a retail company (extreme sports i think) he ends up trapped in the tunnel, he's only in it during the beginnig quarter of the movie i'd say, if you missed that part thats why u didn't see him, if you see the beginning you can't miss him
shareI better watch the movie again...thanx!
shareYeah he's the unfortunate soul who gets crushed under about a hundred tons of scrap metal around 45 minutes through. What I don't understand is why he didn't just dive to the side, instead of just standing there, is rather an amusing death really!!
shareUnless the scene was cut shorter for television, my impression was that he didn't really have time to move when it started to collapse on him. It seemed to me that he'd just touched down and gotten his legs under him when everything started to crash on top of him.
shareThis is awesome, because I'm going to disagree with your comment that you posted more than four years ago! It's like time travel, man, time travel.
Mortensen looked up and waited at least half a century for the debris to come down and flatten him. This was the inspiration for Austin Powers crushing that guard with the steamroller.
Always remember to wear a helmet when caving, and carry three light sources
Just watched the scene a couple times. He slides down the rope, hits the ground, begins to unstrap himself, looks up for a second realizing he's a goner, looks straight ahead and blows out his chewing gum, cupow. There was no place to dive, besides still being strapped to his harness. Also it shows the pressurized fire and tunnel collapsing seconds behind Stallone and the convict. Those two barely had time to escape the fire which did kill the big convict.
shareIn some ways I think his character was inspired a by Richard Branson, only without the billions of dollars. A risk-taking adventurer with a huge ego.
shareHe’s the guy who tries to climb out. Stallone warns him, and says “hope you make it” (he doesn’t)
