tommyboy vs black sheep
´who do you prefer i like them both
shareTommy Boy
sharetommy boy.
i like them both, but tommy boy has by far better writing.
black sheep seems a little desperate, and relies more on C.F. yellin' a lot more.
and david spade's character isn't as funny...
Jealousy is all the fun you *think* they're having.
they are both funny but Tommy Boy is far superior. For one thing, there was more contrast between Tommy (Farley) and Richard (Spade) in Tommy Boy. Richard never really liked and even hated Tommy whereas Tommy never understood why. In Black Sheep, they were both idiots and got along much better. I think this difference allowed Tommy Boy to create even funnier moments such as the "fight" on the side of the road as well as all of Richard's snotty, sarcastic remarks.
shareI also thought Tommy Boy is far superior to Black Sheep and the movie flowed at a much faster pace, I definitely do agree with you that they both got along alot better in Black Sheep than they did on Tommy Boy, on Black Sheep the funny moments occurred during the beginning and the end of the movie, I thought the scenes in the middle were kind of boring.
sharei love both of these movies.
i'd give the edge to tommy boy.
a very slight edge!
& it's probably because chris and
david were at their closest at this
time. during black sheep, there was
a lot of tension in their
friendship.
Tommy Boy. Without question.
Although, Black Sheep does have its funny moments.
Tommy Boy is way funnier.

Hey by 'finesse' do you mean sputtering out sentence fragments and lighting things on fire?
"Black Sheep" just ended and "Tommy Boy" is rolling now - watching Richard do the little "wipe away the smudge" on the car door (as they were supposed to be getting gas/directions) it occurred to me that Spade is as good as Cary Grant who I always thought was funny as hell. This one scene was all facial expression - knowing how to play the camera and he did it perfect. His delivery of smart assed lines must have been legendary wherever he went to HS ! Grant did this in quite a few movies but the remarks weren't quite as stinging - still, there was that playing to the audience while the on screen foil didn't quite know or hear that he/she has just been insulted. I watched "Almost Heroes" and realized that Chris had really taken his acting to a new level - just before he died. But in general, he was a pretty decent actor, even though I've never seen him play anything other than a spaced out loser, I have the feeling that had he lived, he would have gone on to expand his acting abilities, maybe like Akroyd, some straight dramatic roles. Such a waste.
Destroying that GTX "Tommy Boy" was such a waste too !!!
"No ones around - its naughty time..." LOL !!
chick at the motel swimming pool - Richards up in the window willing her to take her bikini top off... the scene just played.
The freakin' baby gate on the driver side door LOL !!!
