I THOUGHT THE WEREWOLF WAS REALLY KOOL LOOKING IN THIS MOVIE.I KNOW THE TRANSFORMATION WAS REALLY LAME,BUT THE WEREWOLF DID LOOK GOOD,ANYONE AGREE?

I agree 100%. The werewolf looked absolutely fantastic. The growling or werewolf howling looked completely authentic and really creepy. In a film like this where really the only good thing about the film is the wolf, its unfortunate that we weren't shown more of him. D- transformation, A+ creature.

Hell ya its the BEST werewolf in all films. Van helsing's was awsome, but its ears were to close together and pointy. BAD MOON ROCKS! It was cool cuz the werewolf was RUNNING thorugh a forest and BEATING UP a dog and JUMPING through windows and crap. See all those verbs, its action-packed!

I agree. This is one of the best-looking werewolves ever. Totally scary and almost believeable. They could have saved their money on the transformation though. Cheesy as all get-up. Werewolves are hard to design to look cool. And there have only been a handful of good ones. That's why there's so many dam vampire movies. All you need is fangs.
shareI appreciate what film makers do with special effects based on the technology available to them at the time. Look back at some of the classic Universal monster flicks like the Invisible Man made over 70 years ago and be amazed.
In the case of Bad Moon, I think the special effects were done relatively simply, probably with a small budget and the results are quite good. However, the scene where the werewolf traps his sister in the house is pretty bad - specifically the head shots. The head was obviously mechanical, with jaws that kept opening and closing. All I could think of was Bruce, the mechanical shark from JAWS, which just kept flapping his jaws open and close. Since these movies were made 20 years apart, you'd think there would be some better options available to the makers of Bad Moon.
SALEMS LOT is a crackup - I especially love that one about dinosaurs lasting so long even with walnut sized brains. LMAO

The only other werewolf movie thats better then this is THE HOWLING the transformation in the movie is EPIC. and it was done in the 80's so time from doesnt matter just the effort.

It's become my favourite werewolf design, it's so realistic in design, it felt like a real wolf with more fur on it's face, the big ears and nose. It has a tail that you don't see often.
It can leap about, jump through a window, hide high in a tree, mutilate someone by a single slash.
