Does anybody find it disturbing?

This being a disney movie and all, I always found the whole plot concept quite disturbing. The whole point is that she wants to kill and skin the puppies... The "Skinner" guy is even shown with all of his crazy tools of the trade. I think it's sort of creepy how you don't really notice that as you are watching, especially if you are a child, but when you look back...it's sort of a wow moment. For me at least.

The Adventures of Perspective Man and Thigh Boy!!!

Ever read any of Grimm's fair tales or any childrens fair tales? Frequently it is the children in the stories who are going to be skinned roasted and eaten!

Actually, the most disturbing thing for me was the horrible foreshadowing when Natasha Richardson tells Jeff Daniels: "If you have a concussion, you shouldn't be left alone." That line was just a little too disturbing to hear after current events.

"Do you know what this is? This is death! Delicious, Strawberry flavored death!"

Actually John, Anita is played by Natasha Richardson's sister, Joely Richardson.

Whoops. And even on imdb, too. My bad. Never mind.

What's even more disturbing is that people legally destroy defenceless and harmless animals every single day just to put countless packets of meat on supermarket shelves and - yet that is acceptable to the point of being humdrum (in the stable scene the wicked one even tells the animals that they'll end up as "sausage meat with fries on the side"), whereas skinning puppies for clothing is not...

What kind of a f:'[{d up world is this!!!?

On a lighter note: What is far less disturbing is that a bunch of meatheads gave such a brilliant movie an average score of only 5.4/10 at the time of writing this comment. Didn't they notice the repeatedly exceptional skills of the animals involved in this movie or what!? Or perhaps the masses of hamburger munching voters couldn't understand why the villains are such contempible scum?

Whereas Scar slaughtering his own brother for power, and then blaming the murder on his own tiny nephew is a barrel of laughs?

"And no regrets?"

Exactly! I find most Disney films to have really disturbing undertones but at least they do end up teaching valuable life lessons.

In the case of The Lion King, they eventually teach you a valuable life lesson.

The ultimate moral of that story is that you, like Simba, have to face up to your responsibilities, no matter how tempting it may be to run away from them forever.

Who are Simba's best friends? Timon and Pumbaa. What life philosophy of theirs formed the most popular song from the film? 'Hakuna Mutata' which essentially translates to - "ƒuck it - hey man, chillax - don't worry about it - just lie back and have another Stella".

It's still my favourite non-Pixar Disney film, but that contradiction always irritated me.

i know what you mean! i thought this movie should have been at least PG not just G, on the fact that it kept mentioning skinning and killing dogs. and also showed weapons.
