Usagi:The first leading character that can be easily replaced.

Ok,I have heard things like this before...

"But she is the main character...all the things happen to her...she is the princess...she has a good heart...she is sweet..."

There are a lot of Characters with the same behavior in SM.So,I find Usagi is not all that important or cool.Someone else could be a better lead character than her.

She is so weak, dumb and dependent! She cannot play sports...she cannot fight...she cannot stay alone sometimes...she cannot say anything that really is worth...she cannot defend her self from anything, even from harsh words or behavior...she cannot control her life...dude,Can this girl do something by herself??!!

I used to like Usagi in the first season. She was very funny and silly. She never had that 'force' to be a major character (like Yusuke Urameshi from YYH or Lucy from Rayearth),but she was somewhat interesting. But since Season 2,she has been fallen miserably...now she is too boring and lady-like,she can't even walk in the streets without be tied to mamoru's arm.She became just a plain and pathetic girl.

"She wins over the villains in the end"-ok,but after everyone has made the dirty work,it is easy for you to catch up and get the credit for all.She talks too much about love and about how much she likes eating cake. She looks like a retard sometimes...her love scenes with Mamoru are too mellow-dramatic...they love each other...ok,we all know about this already! They don't need to 'die' for each other in every episode...

Sailormoon suffers from a lack of something new...a stronger lead female character, for example.Because male,we have many:the villains (specially prince Demando, his brother Saffiru and that three guys from Dead Moon Circus) and a very enchanting hero:Seiya Kou.I also agree with Usagi/Mamoru fans, when they say Seiya is not the one for her:Fighter deserves someone better, special, like him.

Wanna examples of how a better leading lady would make difference for the story, turning It more creative, dinamic and deep?

1.Ami Mizuno
2.Hotaru Tomoe
3.Minako Aino
4.Sailor Galáxia (She could be a terrific anti-heroine type!)

If Usagi was a secundary character,I bet she would be liked, but not as much as she is just because she is a good girl who is in love with the same guy forever just because she is destined to be a queen.Because, guys, that is all her life is intended to be.

Oh well, somehow I can see your point but you´re so negative! In my opinion all these qualities make her the charming character she is and make it easy to relate to her. I couldn´t imagine the anime without her and changing the main character would change the whole atmosphere which many of fans and I love so much. It would be a different show then. Usagi brings so much warmth to it and I really enjoy watching the show like it is and don´t mind her position as a leading character at all!
I don´t mean that I dislike the other characters, they´re wonderful as well. They´re interesting, well developed and in a lot of ways they compliment each other. The fact that we see this just shows that this anime isn´t about the fact who´s the strongest to be the leader but about friendship and support for each other. It´s not about doing everything on your own. That´s actually what I miss in a lot of other stories.
Besides, although I consider some of the other characters could be interesting as a leading character, too, I think that they also could get boring or annoying as time goes by. Well, at least there will always be people who are dissatisfied...
Oh and I don´t mind the part with her being destined to be the queen and find her only love. It´s a beautiful story and destined love is something beautiful to imagine, don´t we all wish for it? ;)

I love Usiagi and I did get irritated by her sometimes, but that is all her. She is a great character. She is a spoiled girl and a princess of the moon kingdom. I don't think the show would be the same if there was a different sailor moon charatcer. I just wish that there is more. I wanted to se the wedding and the moon kingdom like it was shown in flachbacks. O well, I hope that they pick up where they left off someday. I would really like that.

I don't think she could be replaced. Usagi has such an originality. Its been teen years since the series has been on, people still identitfy with the show and her character. The fourth season downgraded her a bit, but the fifth brought her back to rightful place. Sailor Stars was an epic season, it definitely showed how far she had come, no longer a ditzy girl, she had serious depth. Love live Sailor Moon!!!

Oh you suck Usagi is a great leading character. She is kind of boring in S and Super S but to me those sucked anyway. You really see how strong and independent she is in the original series R and stars. Yes she could be tougher but the point is that she doesn't always win with strengh but by being compassionate.

I like Usagi she is a good main character , sure is not perfect and yes at times it can get annoying but Sailor Moon wouldnt be the same without her.
The ONLY time her attitude just PISSED ME OFF was during S when she risked the life of the entire world by giving Pharaoh 90 the Holy Grail just cause she wanted and had this weird obsession with saving Hotaru that was both stupid and irresponsible. But other than that one time i generally like her character and it makes the show hilarious.

She wasn't being STUPID or IRRESPONSIBLE AT ALL. She didn't realize that Mistress 9 was tricking her, and she made up for it afterward by SAVING THE WORLD with all of the Senshi's power afterward. I don't think she's annoying too.

She's not boring in S or SuperS!! S was one of her shining series, and it didn't suck at all. Sure she's not the toughest, but I think you might want to watch S again and compare her to her in Classic (another great series)

Oh don't give us this *beep* You clearly did NOT get the anime series at all.
