This was my first exposure to Russell Crowe. He's over the top and hammy in a silly-contructed role in a completely implausible flick. Took me several Crowe outings before I came around to the idea that maybe Sid was just a worse character than I thought.
I respect him much more now, but I thought very little of him on the strength of this one alone.

When i was younger this movie made me hate him, since he is so evil in this movie.

So SO WRONG. This movie is fun ( yes cheesy at times) and Russel Crowe is great in it, this role calls for hamming it up. Kick Ass soundtrack album too.
BTw, the film is being shown on the THIS channel either Tuesday or Wednesday nights----I'll check it out, because while I rememmber this film, I've never gotten around to seeing it.
