On Soze SPOILER ALERT -

- getting away at the end, did any of you have a problem with it or did you accept it fine?

reply

I was not.
The way he is described by others, he should have never been in that stupid station with those stupid cops.

He had to make up all this BS and he tops it off by saying"you will never hear of Soze again", as if he will retire. And the cherry on top, 5 minutes later they have his identikit.

So no, I was not happy he barely made it.

I know you were asking about the bad guy getting away, but who the hell did not like that?

reply

He's not saying he's gonna retire, he's saying that they got lucky to catch him once and that once he's free they'll never be able to catch him again because he's so wily

reply

Bah, I didn't get that feeling. He sounded like "he got so close to be caught, he'll just disappear if he gets away this time".
Also, no matter what his opinion on the matter is, they have just identified him pretty accurately.
And even if just a fraction of his BS is accurate and he used aliases, his business is gonna be in danger because of that.

I love this movie but I never could digest how Soze is superpowerful yet he is in this situation entertaining a subpar detective like Kujan. AND he needed the suspects to do this ship heist/murder. WTF, couldn't he find an army of loyal henchmen like any decent supervillain?

reply

Well, for one, in and for several films out there, people actually were disappointed that the culprit/villain got away with it.

reply

"Soze for President", haha. :)
